A Personal Word From Darryl
So glad that you found our website…welcome! Our hearts desire at CPM is to glorify Christ in all we do. Our mission is to simply proclaim Jesus Christ to this generation with love and urgency. I am well aware that the task to bring the hope of Christ to USA students is overwhelming and it is easy to sit back and wonder how it can actually happen. I wish I had a brilliant word or some huge plan to make it all happen but in reality it just does not work that way.
On the other hand it CAN be done by sharing the Truth one student at a time. Watching God transform that young person’s heart, and then they begin to share Christ with their friends, family and schools. As we reach out and see God saving this generation one soul at a time we will come alongside His work and help disciple and encourage these young people to become fully functioning members of local Bible believing fellowships.
I believe it is paramount that we as the Church need to see our nation as a mission field again. We have been lulled into thinking that we are a Christian nation and most people are “saved”. Nothing could be further from the truth. I believe we must mobilize the evangelical American church to impact our students for Christ with the same passion we impacted the political landscape 20 years ago. Political influence is important but Spiritual influence is vital. We need to reach out to millions of USA students with the love and hope of Christ. Their eternities matter…Heaven or Hell. How much is one soul worth?
Why concentrate in the area of reaching teenagers and college students? Because 90% of all people who receive Jesus Christ as their Savior do so before the age of 19. We must get serious about this fact. Many churches in America say the are “mission-minded” and are a soul-winning oriented congregation but they do not have student outreach, youth ministries that actually attract area students, or any one who is in charge of outreach to young people. The average youth ministry in a local church is given only 1 to 4% of the churches yearly budget. Of course I understand why when viewing the current philosophy of so many student ministries: play some games, eat some pizza or hotdogs, tell a 10 minute Bible story and then go play putt-putt. Many churches see it as glorified babysitting with little spiritual significance. We need to wake up.
There is a battle going on for the hearts and souls of our nations youth. It is dark out there and Satan is brutally attacking but Christ is the Light…He is the Redeemer! I have never seen such a great and urgent need for believers to stand together and proclaim the awesome name of Jesus. He is their only Hope and we must be His messengers. Students will respond if we will go. I do see God raising up groups of passionate, young worshipers of Christ Jesus that will hold forth the Word of life to their generation. We need to help equip them and encourage them to do just that.
The average church in America does not lead even one student to Christ in a year. It is time to get to work. It is time to be the Church. CPM will not reach every student in America but we will reach many…and they matter. I realize that not everyone can go where students are, speak their “language”, and make an impact…but all can pray and some can support those who are called to this vast mission.
Please pray with us that God will send true revival to our nation and that the Holy Spirit will ignite a deep passion for our nation’s young people to worship Jesus in Spirit and in Truth. Also pray with us that Jesus will send fellow laborers into this mission field. Certainly the fields are ready for the harvest, but who will go?....we will.
Please let me know if CPM can assist you in any way through our ministries, outreaches, and training sessions. We are here to serve the Body of Christ in reaching young people for His Kingdom and glory.
Jesus is my strength,
_ Darryl
