Christ Powered Ministries: Vision Outline

CPM is not a flashy ministry vision. It is not “cutting edge” or the next new thing on the block. It is actually getting to the very basics of historic, Christ-centered outreach. This simply means that CPM is about sharing the Gospel and leading people to Christ. It is about the Great Commission. It is about holding out the Word of Life to this, and future generations. It is about going where students are and bringing them hope in Jesus’ name.

The reality is that 90% of all people who come to Christ do so before the age of 20. CPM is geared towards student evangelism because this is the stage of life when hearts are tender to hear the Truth. If we are serious about people’s eternities we must be serious about student missions. At this point only 4% of American students have committed their lives to Christ. This means that over 48 million USA teens are lost. We must make every effort to reach them now.


The CPM Outreach Model:

  1. Opening up outreach venues/events that will attract young people: concerts, student outreach centers, small group Bible studies, camps, sports events, retreats, and conferences. Always issuing a call of invitation at every gathering.

  2. Making available local student fellowships and instructing young people in the foundational doctrines of Historic Christianity.

  3. Training students to develop and implement peer ministries. Listening to student’s ideas/concerns and supporting them in launching student-led outreach/ministries.

  4. Teaching them core doctrines of Theology. Also teaching them the basics of current philosophical arguments and apologetics so they will be prepared to give an answer for the Hope that is in them and to be able to defend their faith publicly.

  5. Training them in Practical Evangelism: Students will know how to productively share the Gospel in any social situation or relationship.

  6. Igniting a lifetime pursuit of holiness, purity, and excellence in all areas of their lives. To be true, passionate, worshippers and followers of Jesus Christ.

  7. Encourage students to seek out their Spiritual Gifts and to allow God to develop those gifts to impact their generation for His glory. Understanding they are a part of something much bigger than themselves and that Christ is the Head of the Church.

  8. Working with churches to assess the reality of what students are facing, showing them how to reach out to area students, and then improving methods to help plug students into their local Bible believing fellowships.

By encouraging students to fully embrace their Christian Faith, they will in turn have a Godly impact on many other students through day to day contact at school, jobs, social gatherings, and certainly within their own families. Many will go on to become pastors, youth leaders, church leaders, administrators, teachers, ministry founders, and missionaries. We want them to be equipped to, and passionate about, transferring their faith in Christ to the next generation. The best missionaries to our American students are other students transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. CPM is here to encourage, equip, teach, guide, develop, and fund student led ministries and outreach initiatives.

At this point in history 70% of “church” youth (students raised in church) will no longer be a part of a local church after they turn 20 years of age. It is vital that we see America as a mission field again. Our young people are being devastated by an onslaught of witchcraft, cults, atheism, and false religions. We must stand in the gap and proclaim the Gospel with much love and boldness. How much is one soul worth? They are worth us leaving the walls of our churches and holding out real hope, light, and life to those who are in darkness. May we have a sense of urgency in our compassion and evangelistic pursuits.

The fields are ready for the harvest, who will go? …We will.
